As a boy soprano I performed with Seattle Opera in the chorus for the operas Tosca, Boris Gudonov and Carmen at the Seattle Opera House. Then I had the honor, right before my voice changed, to perform the title role of Amahl in Seattle Opera’s production of Amahl and the Night Visitors. This was great early music training which had started previously with the Northwest Boychoir. With NWBC we learned Latin and a capella Early Music. I count Seattle Opera and my tours with NWBC through the great cathedrals of Europe (Westminster Abbey, Notre Dame, Chartres, etc.) as one of my best musical training grounds.
During this time I also had the privilege of working closely with well-known Seattle classical artists Archie Drake and George Shangrow.
