From 1997-2004 I was touring keyboardist for Grammy winner Freddy Fender of the Texas Tornados. We played a lot of shows throughout the US and also in Denmark and Japan. I love Freddy and it was a fantastic experience playing for him. Major gigs included the 2002 American Latin Music Awards and the Grand Ole Opry live tv show out of Nashville. While I was in the Freddy Fender band he won one of his Grammy’s and also received his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

My favorite quote from Freddy was what he said to me once as we were having lunch together while doing shows in Las Vegas: “I only know one thing. I know there’s a God, and I know it’s not me.”
