He has arranged a complete library of Rap and R&B backup music for RapTrack.com and also sponsors the Rap Dogs Hip Hop Music Forum.

"When artists first meet me, they are a little surprised that I'm a white Norwegian producing R&B. But once we get into the sessions and they hear the work, that all changes", says Askland. "The main thing I bring to the table as an R&B music producer that others don't, is a good understanding of classical theory and orchestration of audio layers. Most RB producers don't think in terms of counterpoint or layers. I take that back, Quincy Jones does."
