Concert
Pianist
Conrad
Askland works as a musical producer and concert pianist. "I've
done music my whole life, it's all I know", says Askland. "I
realized early on that I never wanted to just play standard classical
repertoire on stage, so my solo piano concert shows are based around
improvisations in classical and contemporary styles."
His live
piano concerts have been compared to a mix between Victor Borge
and Liberace. He has also worked as a keyboardist with several groups
including Grammy winner Freddy Fender, the Seattle Opera, Knott's
Berry Farm, the Grand 'Ol Opry and has composed original music for
corporate audio clients around the world.
"To
me, a concert pianist is someone who plays standard classical repertoire.
I don't always do that, but I make my living giving piano concerts",
says Askland.
