Some photos of the Sands Venetian in Macau (Macao) China where I am working with Cirque Du Soleil. I think this is currently the second largest building in the world and it’s truly massive. You can easily get lost roaming the shops on the upper floors.
One of my forum servers is currently switching hosts. ETA for forums affected to be back up is by May 4, 2008. The server is a major performance upgrade from our previous host. Once that server is back online I’ll begin migration to new forum software with social networking and blog features. After the first [...]
When running a live show with audio tracks, who should have control of the initial mix: Front of House mixer or the original track software output. A great argument was put to me (which was compelling enough for me to whole heartedly agree with) that the initial output should reflect the composers intention. The FOH [...]
(Photo: Aviathar Pemberton) Conway, WA – April 26, 2008 at 8:00PM Skip Hamilton and Aviathar Pemberton, the “Eclectic Music Experience” will perform at the Conway Muse. $10.00 at the door. Aviathar is one of the most fun people I’ve ever played with. Anywhere Aviathar is…well, that’s the place to be.
Friends back home were asking what my living conditions are like in China so here are pictures of my apartment on the island of Taipa in Macau, China (SAR). These are pictures of the place before I moved in. This is the view from my living room windows. Just over the river there you can [...]
How do you eat with chopsticks? I’ve been shown so many times and I just don’t get it. I’m tired of Chinese people laughing at me and bringing out the silverware. The guy in this picture is making fun of my chopstick skills. He’s a chopstick pro. But he’s a drummer; he’s used to holding [...]
(Here should be some really cool pictures of everyone at the Montreal Airport yelling “Macau! Macau”. But I was too tired to take them.) Welcome to my most mundane blog post EV-er… On March 23, 2008 the Cirque Du Soleil artists for “Macau I Cosmos” flew from Montreal, Canada to Hong Kong for relocation. Here’s [...]
The Cirque Du Soleil show Delirium’s last performance was April 20, 2008 in London. At this time Cirque du Soleil and Live Nation will not pursue further touring options. Congrats to all involved with the show for the last two years and best of luck moving forward!
Check the upload and download speed of your internet connection at SpeedTest.net Even from China I was able to locate a close server in Hong Kong for tests. In China we’re all having very different experiences between our actual connection speeds and the speed advertised by our common provider. I’m at 9386 kb/s download and [...]

Piano duel between “Inventor of jazz” -Jelly roll morton and 1900. From the movie Legend of 1900.
The Legend of 1900 is my favorite movie of all time. Most people I’ve mentioned it too have never seen it. It’s a heartbreaker. This is a scene on a cruise ship during a storm as the piano rolls around the ballroom late at night.
