You should have an adjustable stand so you can get the keyboard at a good level for your chair. You can get a good stand for $50 or less that's adjustable. I chose a Korg SP 250, and have spent numerous hours accompanying hub on the guitar. (Rest assured, his threats to sue you are frivolous.) I am especially pleased with how good it sounds, even though I am a novice player! I think this is a distinct advantage in that one is likely to spend more time practicing with a fairly decent instrument. I do have another question for you though, and that is about finding a comfortable bench/seat - my back is killing me! Tips or suggestions?
